When i started this company, it wasn’t an of the cuff overnight decision.
It was a decade long battle all the way back from leaving school at 16 and stepping on site for the first time at the bottom of the hill out of Ackworth.
Because “ you need to do something, you’re not sitting on your arse!” Said my parents.
It took me 5 years from then to qualify at the ripe old age of 21, still one of the youngest i knew of at the time.
Not forgetting how that 5 years was constantly marred with all the teething pains of growing up and fitting in.
Passing your Scaffold qualification is abit like passing your driving test, you have the paper but can you drive?
Wanting to spread my wings and feeling held back where i was, i went and worked for all the major firms in Yorkshire both big and small in multiple industries, boy was i in for a shock.
Fast forward to today and iv landed where i always knew i would be, just not quite how i imagined it, nearly 30 and stepping into the big boy pool.
I suppose thats how life is really, not sunshine and rainbows everyday but toil, struggle and war.
I could go on all day about stories and experiences iv had in this industry over the years, some hilarious, some scary and some emotional, even life changing moments in the job i love to do everyday.
Il save those for other posts for social media, but here we are over a decade later. Would i change it?
Absolutely not, iv learned everything i know up to now and im loving every minute, laughing every day and all in the pursuit of bigger things and better places to come, looking forward to the day i can look back and be grateful for the tough times that built me in to the man i ought to be and take this company to the number one in Yorkshire.
